Mooncake Festival 2008

Every year there’s a time for all the kids to play lanterns and colour candles on the road and for everyone of us to take a bite of the delicious mooncake with its soft baked skin and sweet sensation of the lotus seed paste with the bursting salted egg yolk(s) inside. AHHHHHHHH heaven~

My grandmother/Godmother was cooking up a feast on last Sunday afternoon to celebrate the Mooncake Festival. It was sort of a pot luck thing as Aunt Patricia roasted pork(siu yuk) and my mum steamed one big fat chicken for the lunch. When I arrived, my Godmother was preparing the Popiah rolls. More like rolling them la.

I ate 3 or 4 of them. Ahhh I’m putting on weight.

Now that’s healthier, there’s fuchuk a.k.a beancurd skin INSIDE! hooray!! *bows to beancurd skins*

So ya that sums up my lunch. Didn’t get to play lanterns or coloured candles this year.  Or even the pop pop thing. You know what hurts sometimes? People saying that it’s childish of us to play that while it’s cool for the kids to be carrying lanterns around. TELL ME! Does age really matters?? *pretending that it doesn’t*

PS: The photos are to tempt my sister who is currently residing in Perth.

Melissa! Sorry for not dropping by your blog lately… life is getting really busy! Anyway, judging from the tasty food photos you’ve taken, I can happily assume that you’ve had a smashing mid autumn festival celebration! The moment I saw the photo of the roast pork I couldn’t stop salivating all over the keyboard haha! I love roast pork a lot  how much I wish I could be there!
