Graduation Day

After 3 long years of slacking in studies, constant worries and nags coming from my parents and sister on why is their daughter/sister not as hardworking as others, nervous breakdowns every single time during exams on why hadn’t I pay more attention in class and the endless times I told myself to ‘Just Screw It’ during exam,

I’VE FINALLY GRADUATED!!! MY GOD!!!

As I’ve intended to graduate with green hair, unfortunately it fades away so fast till just a few tiny strands of green with a whole load of golden yellow. A blessing in disguise perhaps, because it matches with the dress I’ve designed for myself perfectly along with the Curtin logo as well.

WHOSE THE BOSS NOW HUHH?!?!

Since last year, I have already picked out the flowers I wanted for my graduation day and begged my parents to get a bouquet for me. But as the time comes, my family insisted that it’s a huge waste of money spending on flowers so we’ve agreed upon getting a Koala bear for me instead to which I’m not complaining about!

Headed to uni a wee bit earlier than the graduation ceremony to have take ~~stupid~~ unglam pictures ourselves. But of course, with the regalia on, no matter how unglam we are, it’ll just look good HAHAHAHAHA!

Seeing how I’m not in any way going to get flowers on my graduation day, I’ve decided to bring my 95 cents flowers that I brought from Ikea! I knew it that some day, my useless buys will turn into something great!!!! Yupp, that totally felt like a Harry Potter moment with our flower wands.

Though most of our friends’ graduation ceremony falls on different dates, I’m very grateful and thankful to those who could make it yesterday. I must say that without you all, my life in uni would be much more worse than what it is today. I know that it’ll take some time for us to reunite in one place as some of you might be going away soon, but in my heart, you all have a place in it.

It wasn’t long after that we have to take our seats and wait for eternity before we can have our 5 seconds of fame on the stage. Boy I can tell you how nervous I was. During the whole 5 seconds, though it felt longer to me, my mind speaks for itself.

OH GOD PLEASE DON’T LET ME FALL, PLEASE DON’T LET ME FALL!! I’VE DONE GOOD JUST NOW BY TELLING THE GIRL IN FRONT OF ME THAT SHE HAS A STICKER ON HER ROBE. THAT’S GOOD KARMA RIGHT? OH CRAP OH CRAP, I FORGOT TO TIP MY MORTARBOARD! By then, I was already walking halfway. *STOPS and tips mortarboard* Right now I just look like an idiot. *GAH GAH GAH WHERE’S THE CAMERA THAT I’M SUPPOSED TO SMILE AT?!* oooo lala ok thank you byebye, oh gosh you have wrinkles on your face!

After the end of the ceremony, we have a 5 minutes worth of fireworks. The thing that I’m looking forward to the whole entire night!!

Got a really thoughtful and nice gift from Joy! A book filled with great inspiring quotes and a lovely graduation card! Couldn’t have make my day any better! Before I sleep, I was explaining to my dog how I’ve graduated and he just laid down his head on my knee listening to me the whole time I was talking.

It was yet another perfect day.

Twenty One in 2011

Whenever the year end creeps into everyone’s lives slowly, I will cringe slightly at the thought of my birthday as I really didn’t like the number that tells how I should behave but I guess it all depends on an individual’s judgement! Buttttt I guess 21 isn’t such a bad thing, since all your presents will be tripled or quadrupled *wishful thinking!*.

For this year, I’m really grateful that my parents took the initiative to plan out a birthday party for me and even going the extra mile by giving me a key pendant necklace for my birthday present. Though it might seem cliché to some, it represents something more special than anything that anyone could ask for and for me, it is just so amazing and lucky that my parents got me this. I hadn’t had a party since I was 12 so could you imagine how nervous I was?!

On another thought, how did you like my pink lipstick? I used to hate the thought of having lipstick on my lips as I think it was suffocating in some ways but as I got older, I’m starting to appreciate the colours. Pfffttt so much for swearing that I will never ever buy lipsticks when I was younger. Look whose collecting now hahahahahha wtf!! Signs of growing up to be a young lady hey!?

It was finally time to wear the dress that I’ve bought for myself a year ago for my 21st Birthday party!! It’s the first ever designer collaboration piece that I’ve gotten for myself and the ruffles as well as the details of playfulness spells Lanvin in this dress perfectly. As a bonus, it goes perfectly well with my bright pink lipstick yummy!

For convenience sake, my parents opted for food catering with quite a good spread of food!! How I miss Malaysian food so badly especially the kuih-muihs!!!

As I’m on a budget and I really would want to have great photos to remember the night, I bought a roll of wrapping paper making ’21′ cut outs and paste it to the wall assuring to my mum that the paint will not be ripped off. Surprise surprise!! That’s the first thing that went when I peeled off the 21 HAHAHHAHAHA!!! I even suggested of leaving the cut outs on the wall like a Wall of Fame, as a reminder to them that I’ve turned 21.

Though I hadn’t seen each and everyone for quite some time, it was definitely great seeing everyone again and reminisce about the things we do from the past such as Dinosaur Game!! Goshh we’re such retards when we were young hahahhaha!!

My two favourite pair of heels! Makes everyone so tall after putting them on and I kid you not when I said it doesn’t hurt a bit!

Oh god, everytime I look at this picture, it reminds me of my sad Birthday Cake story hahahha! My parents gave me the choice of choosing my very own birthday cake so I thought I might have order the cake and collect it myself since after all, it’s my duty. On the day of collection, I was waiting for the man to bring out my cake so religiously, till when he looked at my receipt, take a look at me and asked ‘You ordered and bought the cake yourself, and you’re here to collect it yourself?’ AND HE SAID IT WITH A NASTY SMIRK!! OHMYGOD HOW DARED HE, I didn’t know how to respond as I was much in a disbelief that what he said was true and I didn’t even realized it till he pointed it out! I had to convinced myself that I was just being strictly independent!

After all those worries about how the party would go, I’m really thankful that it turned out great towards the end! I love how the the special moments are captured into polaroids and I’ve read all the mini messages that I forced most of you to write hahahhaa and it made me smile every single time I take a look at it.

Special thanks to my cousins for helping me throughout the entire night from being my very own ‘bartender’ to photographer and everything else!! I’ve got the most amazing friends as well as family whom gave me an amazing time!!

PS : Now that I’m back for another two months, it’s tough getting the jobs that I want for experience sake but that should not stop me from getting what I want. Patience, determination, and passion will keep me going on chasing the things I want in life no matter what. Whenever life brings me, I must not turn down knowledge no matter how irrelevant it may seem but who knows what that could bring you to because after all, life is full of surprises!

I’m supposed to be packing for my flight now which is due in a few hours but look at me, I’m blogging!! *pauses* I just lied to my mum saying that I’m packing.

Hello again!! Here’s another post as promised days ago to keep you entertained!!

This kimono wrap was definitely one of the times where I buy a certain thing without giving a thought. In another words, an impulsive purchase. WHATTTTTTTT? It’s on 50% sale! But I didn’t regret a single bit because I’ve worn it so many times as it’s light enough and keeps me warm enough from those cold winter breeze. I particularly like the prints on the kimono wrap because it’s has a strong oriental influence so I thought of playing around with my outfit to that theme. What do you think of it?

Luckily, my finals was only spread within a range of 4 days, this simply means that I could have an extra week to grab all the goodies on sale just in time for the Financial Year End Sale!

Spending hours walking has definitely took its toll on our legs so we spent a long time leaping around in the park like it’s a playground for kids. What’s more kid-like than finishing the day with chocolate drinks and cheesecakes?

Being Vain in Uni

I did mention that we brought many set of clothes but there wasn’t enough time to change so in the end, we just changed once HAHAHHAHA!! But this definitely gives us an excuse to have another day like this doesn’t it?

Here comes the long awaited post! It sure is a picture heavy post because I’m narcissistic like that. I couldn’t really just pick a limited few! And yess, I’ve worn the dress which was supposedly meant for my 21st Birthday but I just couldn’t wait to slip into it! It still is my 21st Birthday Dress!!

Joanne asked me ‘Don’t we look like we’re a bunch of young designers?’ and when I took a closer look at this particular picture, I sure think we do!

These were the only a few pictures taken in the studio because we were running out of the time and plus, there wasn’t really much we could do!

It was definitely a fun-filled day and these are the moments that were captured for that day. Don’t be fooled by the pictures but there were a lot of people in uni the other day so we had to settle for this spot because we were quite shyy. As it was raining the day before, the ground was pretty mushy and our heels kinda sunk into the ground so screw it, that’s why I was wearing my flats the entire time but that certainly didn’t stop us from being kids!

Fooling around with scarves(back then, it was my mummy’s clothes) and jumping around jumping out and down, reaching out for tree branches were the things I used to do back then when I was a kid. I’m really falling in love with Joanne’s camera lens!!! All these pictures are taken with her camera

This time, there were only three of us because a few other girls weren’t able to come on that day!! So here’s hoping for another day like this ~~so that I could play with all my clothes~~!

Behind the scenes : Being in a studio for the first time

Now that I’m done with all my papers, I can’t even sleep even when it’s already 1am!!! < HAHAHHA wtf I wrote this even before I took my first paper BECAUSE bear in mind this was drafted since days ago!!

As I’m taking my precious break now, I’m going to tell you my excitement when Joanne and Amelie told me that they’ve booked a studio in my uni for their photography assignment! Immediately I knew I had to go and be a busy body even though there was a test that week!! (screw test, this one is more important!! )

It was definitely my first time being in this studio and I still clearly remember that I was squealing with excitement inside because we were planning the number of outfits to bring and change so that we could take lots and lots of outfit pictures!!

At one point, I’ve even decided to lugged my luggage bag all the way to uni *MIND YOU I TAKE AT LEAST AN HOUR TO REACH MY UNI!* because that just shows how many pairs of heels and outfits we planned to bring! However though, I’ve decided that I must not look like a fool so in the end I just bought TWO BAGS = 1 LUGGAGE to make it look like I’ve got an important task to do! SCORE! Looking like a busy person AND being able to bring planned outfits!

YESSS! Didn’t bring my whole drawer of accessories but Joanne sure did brought a lot of hers! Those were just the pairs of heels/flats because most of our good ones are back in Malaysia!! It’s just really weird because whenever I’m here, I’ll just tend to wear flat shoes wherever I go because it’s just SO SO inconvenient with heels especially with all the public transport and long distance walking!!

Sooo that’s us playing around in the studio! Will show you more pictures soon. OKAY those who’ve seen them, please pretend you hadn’t seen them!! But then again, what most of you have seen on Facebook wasn’t the complete set so please stalk me in the next few days so that I can tickle your fancy! *wiggle eyebrows!*

WHAT NONSENSE!!! *hits everyone except for the first person with a hammer!!* These are the responses I get when I told everyone about the things I do for my Fashion Design unit. Truth to be told, YES I’M EXHAUSTED but I’M IN LOVE at the same time with what I’m doing. My only issue is time as I’ve got a couple more assignments on hand. So that explains my blogging pattern.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Fremantle because the only reason I would go there is when I’m super craving for some good ol Fish & Chips!! Or when I gatal HAHAHAHAHA!

Every single time I enter the market, I would ALWAYS, ALWAYS see that there’s a lot of people joining the long queue to this ramen stall. The thing is, as much as I yearn to try it every time I see it, I’ll be so freaking full from fish & chips that I couldn’t even shove an ice down my throat!! But thank god, I got around to try it just last Friday with Amelie and her bf! True to my expectations, it’s so good down to every bite!!

While walking around Fremantle, I spotted my favourite car, Beetle!!!! Then it strikes me that the colour combination of my choice of clothing for the day matches this car perfectly. Hoppity hop, I wanted to take a picture with the car so that I will at least have a picture of myself with that car!! But there was a woman talking on the phone next to it and I’m so worried that if I were to do that, she’ll give me weird stares!! T_T

We only spent a few hours around in Fremantle because our main intention of going there is for Amelie to take pictures for her Photography assignment so not many outfit pictures! But I’ve got to say that it’s such a breather to be able to tag along to Fremantle because I have not got the time to go out for a while now because of my work load ishh! Sorry I had to make this into a short post because I have to rush my 2 dresses now! Will show you guys once it’s done!

One hour for meatballs

Ohmygoodness I just finished watching the second last episode to Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries yesterday and it got me feeling so down last night!

Not long ago, my friends and I had this sudden itch to eat Ikea’s meatballs which is located quite a distance away from our Uni. But that didn’t stop us from heading all out for the meatballs! So off we went on an half an hour ride just thinking and talking about glorious glorious meatballs in all its awe!

It was probably my first time going to Ikea using the public transport so I totally had no idea what we have to ~~WALK~~CLIMB THROUGH FOL! Long story short, there is this short cut which cuts straight to Ikea and I tell you, it really isn’t a short cut if it doesn’t require any hard work. We literally had to walk down slowly on a VERY VERY STEEP HILL WTH!!! Coming from someone who has not exercise for a long time? That’s some serious FUH DANGER!! To make things worse, we took a much less steeper road among the two ‘grass-less’ paths on the hill and there was an elderly couple who walked down the steeper one just minutes before us like it’s some easy task TRA,LA,LA,LA!

Now now, don’t be afraid and think that I’ve finished that whole plate of meatballs by myself! I wanted to save my stomach for the Daim dessert that everybody’s always been talking about! Don’t know whether it’s just me but the dessert wasn’t as satisfying as I expected it to be and it seems a tad bit dry!

It isn’t complete to go to Ikea without ~~walking~~ prancing around oooooh-ing and aahhh-ing at all the furnitures and how they’re being put together in such compact spaces and then WISH for a miracle that your room will magically be like this somehow.

I think all of our eyes lit up when we saw the word ‘CHILDREN’S IKEA‘ written across the sign right above our heads!! Off we ran to hide and crawl through the holes wtfwtf!! Bowie really loves his vegetables doesn’t he? Whenever we go out for Dim Sum, he would always want to order a plate of greens which is ridiculously priced for the sad amount being served! So inevitably we would always tell him off for wanting to order veges because it’s simply a waste of stomach space when you can eat more Dim Sum on nom nom nom!

One thing about the kids’ section is there are so many soft toys strewn around the place!! I even found a white rat in the bowl! Funny how each of us grabbed a mouse and immediately each of us gave such different response to it!

Lanterns and embroidery on lamps reminds me so much of Tangled and they are not that costly!! I THINK IT COSTS $4.95 FOR ONE? *points at the picture!* Speaking of Tangled (mind you, I’m still slightly obsessed with it), when I saw daisies being sold in Ikea that resembles the ones that’s on her hair, I bought right away without thinking! You know it’s just one of those habits where you just feel like buying something even when you have no intentions to when you enter a store hohoho.

On a side note, I’ve been plucking roses from my backyard so that I could sniff them at night! I swear they smell soooo good!!! However, one thing I didn’t like about these flowers are the prickly thorns on the stems!!! Agitated, i used the scissors to shave it to make the stems silky smooth and it’s like shaving the hair off a person’s legs!!

Lying about Purchases

DON’T JUDGE ME BY THE TITLE!!

I’ve got so many backdated posts to blog on so I’m doing my best to draft a few posts today so you will know what’s been keeping me busy for the last few months! Anddddd I was supposed to blog during my Easter break but I got so held up by my assignments, I couldn’t even have time to go out!!! YES I was so depressing, I stayed at home for 4 days straight so that I could force myself to finish up my work! This is the first dress I’ve ever ever sewn in my life! Thoughts? For your information, it couldn’t fit anyone/NOT EVEN A MANNEQUIN because as I was sewing, it just gets smaller and smaller HHHAHA!! And that’s two pages of my Research Portfolio!!

Thank God, the days are passing by so fast that I have a day or two now to take some rest and most importantly blog!!

Just right before the three of us head back to Australia, we decided to just spend quality time with each other and have lunch at our favourite hang out, Delicious because they serve such amazing fries with yummy aioli!!

Just so you know, a few days earlier I was eagerly calling all the shops available in KL for an asymmetrical top that I wanted so badly and that there is only one piece left in the whole of KL!!! And it’s in the mall my parents didn’t like most(because of the parking mind you), Mid Valley! Being my desperate self, I called up all the friends whom understand my excessive hunger when it comes to shopping to ask if any of them are going to MID VALLEY!! Unfortunately nobody was!! I think it’s a sign from God because that was the day when my dad told me that he’s going to Mid Valley to hand off some things to his client. HALLELUJAH!!! I ran to the stall like it was the end of the world just to so I could secure the top in my hands!

Let me tell you, they’re really not friends for nothing because the first moment I met them, all they asked was ‘SO DID YOU BUY YOUR TOP? ‘ Knowing that they didn’t know what was the top I was so crazy about, I said noooo just so they could spare me a few evil stares!! But little did they know I was wearing the top to see them!

What about you? Have any of you lied about what you bought just so you could escape some nagging hehehe?? Because that’s definitely what I do most of the time!!

By night, it was time for my girls way back from high school!!! Having Marshy and I being stucked in a jam for an hour definitely got us crazy just like old times. AND WE SPOTTED A BUS JUST FOR CBN AND ST JOHN!! It’s a shame we didn’t have that when we were still in high school.

It was a very random outing because halfway through talking, I remembered someone asking, so what’s the point of the meet up today eh? Everybody’s faces was then plastered with blank looks hahahha till someone said NONSENSEEE, MEI YAN’S FLYING TOMORROW!! Then everybody OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-ED!!!!

It’s funny that I’ve got silly friends like them that makes me ticklish in the pit of my stomach.

That’s what I meant when I tell you that it’s not easy not to laugh at them for being so silly! It’s a good thing that I’m heading back to KL this winter break because I sure can’t wait to see them again!!

Denim Jacket

I’m going to change my blog layout soon, I think these colours are all too bright or should I say ugly for me and this blog isn’t so much on babblings of a TEENAGER anymore! OMG AM I TURNING OLD? NO!

Yes, you just witnessed me talking to myself.

Anyways, I still love colours but I’m going to make something out of it so you could keep your toes and fingers waiting while I take my time setting on some changes to this blog.

I finally overcome two hellish papers last week! I swear it made me sweat buckets studying for it but alas, I’m free for a day or two before I have to do my other work that I’ve magically forgotten about eeekks! Few weeks ago, my bunch of uni friends headed out to satisfy our Dim sum and shopping cravings (again ) at Dragon Palace in Northbridge! I just love their Baked ‘Golden Sand Buns’!!

It was absolutely a day filled with perfect weather conditions to walk around in and taking pictures around the city while sipping our cups of bubble tea! It’s been a long time since I’ve worn my long sleeved denim jacket. I remembered that I used to hate denim jackets when I was a kid because it was hard for me to move around in as I was a very very active kid way back then! Fortunately, now that I’ve grown older, I’m growing fonder of the versatility of a denim jacket!

As much as I tried not to drink bubble tea here, I can’t help but to notice that it’s true that most of the Asians you see on the streets are the ones whose holding a cup of bubble tea in their hands and other people of the world is holding a fruit juice or coffee etc etc. I used to be really confused when people associate bubble tea with Asians till I’m one of them recently.

WOH HOHO I love this picture the most because it makes me look thin!!

For some reasons, I’d be more fascinated if it’s named as the Bad Wolf lane.

I’m dying to have a nice faux fox tail but I don’t seem to find a one that is up to my liking yet! I like these coloured ones that were placed on Prada’s window especially the striped one (!!!) but I’m pretty sure they’re real fox tails.

Spontaneous Picnic

For TWO separate days, I managed to say NO to a cape coat that I’ve been searching for so long. On these two days, I managed to try on it and thinking it will be gone by the next day! Note that these two days are a few days apart! BUT NOOOO MY SIZE IS STILL HERE TODAY!! Plus my mum even said I could get it and she would sponsored half because I’ve been talking and talking about it.

Lo and behold, I didn’t get it in the end! *breathes a sigh of relief!* I was immensely surprised with my new-found attitude so I decided to gave myself a good pat! AND THE THING IS, I’M THINKING OF BUYING SOME OTHER THINGS TO REWARD MYSELF WTF HAHAHAHAHHA THE IRONY!!!

Last Sunday, I had the longest one hour long walk because I was so desperate to get lace trimmings and Tangled pillowcase WTF!!! I’m quite impressed with myself yesterday that I’ve finally exercised!! I was just talking to Su Ning about jogging and WTH I HADN’T JOGGED SINCE I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL!!!

Anyway, I guess this happens to most of us but I simply love it when someone throws out a suggestion on having a picnic at Lake Gardens the next day and then Poof! It all started when Marshy asked us whether we would love to meet up with the other girls for old time sake and she thought that it would be great if we could have a picnic! UNDOUBTEDLY THE IDEA SOUNDS GREAT but I didn’t think that anyone would be up for it but it turns out that everyone is having the time of their life picnicking the next day!

Been wanting to have a picnic for the longest time because honestly, I don’t remember the last time I had one! I guess the reason why is that partially I wanted to dress up for picnic!

It’s funny how we try to recreate the moments we had when we were still in high school! (i.e eating the food together at the same time! )

At this rate, after seeing so many pictures of seeing myself in wayfarers, I THINK I SHOULD INVEST IN ONE RIGHT!!!?? Wayfarers seems to make everyone look good no matter what! Maybe it’s time to say Hello to Rayban and reward myself another 21st birthday present! HAHAHHAHA WTF I guess I will have a lot of 21st birthday presents to myself if I keep using this as my excuse and it sounds bloody depressing somehow!

AND YESSS YOU’VE GUESSED IT RIGHT! I brought a flower clip AND a floppy hat I got from Chic Pop Bazaar!! I was so happy when I got my hands on this floppy hat because the day before I went to the bazaar, I was just browsing Topshop site and a similar floppy hat was selling for 30 pounds! Thankfully, I’ve cut down on my impulsive purchases and I guess it’s a blessing in disguise because I got this particular floppy hat for RM30! Such a steal!

Everyone got pretty excited and started jumping around when Marcia brought out her bottle of bubbles!! WHO KNEW POPPING BUBBLES WOULD BE SO FUN!! I felt like we’ve all turned in the yellow fish from Finding Nemo for that whole 10 minutes. Halfway through, I heard the bell of the Ice-cream man!! Like a kid, we ran to him and I shamelessly asked for my 50cents ice-cream!! HE TOLD ME THAT THERE’S NO MORE 50 CENTS ICE CREAM CONE BUT IT’S ONE DOLLAR NOW and that I’ve been living under a rock ish!

After lots and lots of snacking and playing, we went to feed ducks! I don’t remember feeding any ducks when I was a kid, cause it’s always the fishes or tortoises in the pond that people are feeding to! So this was something different and I swear that the ducks there are the cutest things ever!!! SO I was throwing some bread pieces for them to munch on and I accidentally threw onto their bodies HAHAHAHAHA!! And they were dumb enough to paddle with bread pieces on their backs FTL!

Being under the sun for hours does takes it toll on us girls, especially without any sunblock!! In the end, everybody craved for Coca Cola! The minute we had it, everybody freaking had Cokegasm WTF and declared that it’s better than sex hahahahahah!!! Things you hear from people coming from an all girls school tsk tsk tsk!!

Now for the outfit pictures! And please don’t shy away when you see the front bunny tail!! I’ve decided to skip the picnic dress part and go for something which I could feel comfortable in and move around easily! Therefore, I’ve picked this favourite new pair of shorts of mine to match with my camel floppy hat and I stole my mummy’s backpack to get along with the whole picnic theme! But knowing me, I love to add a pop of colour to my outfits hence the pastel green belt which I adore so much till right now! What do you think of my outfit?
