Finally a blog post after so many months of hibernating!! As most of my friends have known, i went back to KL during my winter break in July to go for a family trip to Japan, The Land of the Rising Sun! I remembered being very excited about it because as a family girly girl, I love going on trips with the whole bunch of family as this time, I went with my cousins’ family too! The usual ones that has been hanging out since God knows when!

*OH OH OH DID I TELL YOU I WAS BUGGING MY DAD TO GET ME A DSLR BEFORE THE JAPAN TRIP TO TAKE NICE NICE PHOTOS N HE WAS SO NICE TO GET ME ONE JUST THE DAY BEFORE I FLY I LOVE YOU DADDY! *

Ps: But do bear with me for the first few posts because I was just learning all the manual settings in one night FML so in the end, due to time constraints I was using most of the auto settings but fear not, I’ve picked up a lot ever since!

So here we were, at KLIA being jakuns taking pictures of ourselves. To be honest, I never like going to the airports because it’s a depressing place to be in usually because it will be either I’m leaving my family or I’m sending someone off. But this time(!!!!), I knew that something fun and big was waiting for me. I was being my hyper self full out!

Even the airplane ride of 6 hours was exciting, so much so I ACTUALLY ENJOYED THE FOOD! They served two bunwiches (hahahha wtf sandwiches in buns!) for SNACKS! Other than that, it was my first time being served Nasi Lemak though because every other time, when it was my turn to order the food, Nasi Lemak is out of stock WTF! So there I was, squealing in my seat and I was laughing so loud because I had ikan bilis in a small container.

I know, I’m such a weird child, because my pet fish died, look at his death date.

After a full 6 hours of MelissaGoodness, everyone landed happily at Kansai Airport! I tell you, it was dramatic! Isn’t travelling always the best opportunities to dress up? So both my cousin and I ran to the toilet before going through the immigration to change into our best outfits for a day in Universal Studios of Japan, USJ! Hahahah not the Subang USJ AH! At first when they mentioned USJ, i was like FTL WE’RE IN JAPAN PPL! Then in the end, I realised it was I whom didn’t understand it! Another thing that’s funny was that after we all had changed, my sister, cousin and I were all WEARING SIMILAR WHITE FRILLY TOPS! Indeed FASHIONISTAS THINK ALIKE!

We were a lil bit early to arrive at USJ, so I whipped out Daisy(yes my camera has a name) and started making sweet sweet memories of everyone! That man standing there looks like Lou Foo Chi! I don’t know how is the actual spelling like but if you read out like that, you’ll know which old chinese comic character that I’m talking about!

While waiting for our lovely tourguide, Kenro-San to get us some tickets, I was searching high and low for the big steamy ball!

As we entered, we were greeted by this wide road and stores built on the side inspired by all the cartoons and little stalls selling popcorns! I love em’ Japanese because their popcorn tubs are just so cute! It’s all the heads of our favourite characters! Sadly, I didn’t manage to get any in USJ.

Now here’s the funniest bit! We went onto our first ride, and initially it was just us youngsters who were going for it because EVERYONE, and i mean A LOT OF PEOPLE, were queuing up for this ride. It’s written in Japanese only though so we did not have any slightest bit idea on what is ahead of us. Two of us went in first while waiting for others to help us put our belongings into the lockers provided, AND THEN SUDDENLY(!), THE WHOLE BUNCH OF FAMILY, 9 PERSON, SEMBILAN(!!!) CAME IN HALFWAY OF THE QUEUE HHAHAHHAHAHA OMG WTF! I mean if a person jumped queue in front of you, you’ll be a mumbling at the back. So in the end we comforted ourselves that it’s once and for all, we won’t see this people again, but the Japanese are nice people, nobody said anything so LA DEE DUM

So because it was a one whole 45 minutes long queue, they had this photo booths halfway of the queue and the USJ people are funny I tell you, they talk and walk like how you see the characters move in animes! Thing is, when we finally got to our rides, we thought to ourselves, okay maybe it’s just a kiddy ride with a lot of nice things to see while you’re sitting in the space car-like thingys for four. I was one of the first four, AND I KID YOU NOT, AFTER 10 SECONDS, IT WENT DOWN SO STEEP I CAN SHIT IN MY PANTS! NOT BECAUSE I WAS SCARED BUT IT’S MY PARENTS AND MY COUSINS’ PARENTS BEHIND US. You see, they are not the roller coaster type of people kan you see. My Godmother was sitting next to me, and I could tell you I was screaming in agony half of the time because of the pain inflicted on my arm and my left arm was bathing in her sweat hahahaha!!

My uncle was the best, because he thought that since it would be a wonderful ride with all beautiful things to see, he was video-ing the whole time…WITH THE CAMERA SWINGING HERE AND THERE HAHAHAHHAHA! I’ll update the video once I get my hands on it but it was basically him screaming in a deep man’s voice with bits of lights here and there from the pretty ride. I must say it’s a pretty and exciting ride though!

Every time I look at this Spiderman, it reminds of how stupid we are indeed! In most of the rides, there’s a long walk before you can reach the ride, and for this freaking Spiderman one, there wasn’t anybody in sight and the walk is so long it’s like a maze with telephone and things you normally see in the Spiderman comic! Like an office with phones and all as parts of the decoration. WEIRD THING IS, there was nobody in sight and there’s a music playing in the background. Suddenly a phone rang! Then I THOUGHT OMG ARE WE IN THE GAME ARLEADY? Because there’s like phrases of hints on the wall every now and then, I was so scared that we might not be able to solve it and then we cannot get out! So eveyrbody was like, ‘THE PHONE THE PHONE!! PICK UP THE PHONE!!’.

So I was the one to ran to the other end to pick up and in the end, we realised :

1: The phone is stucked, it’s just merely a decoration.
2: Everything is in Japanese, how in the world are we going to converse? YAMATE YAMATE?

Had cheesy pizzas at Louie’s for the whole lot of us, and the ambience in the restaurant reminds me so much of Lady & The Tramp! Look at my whole turkey leg! I TELL YOU, I have the appetite of a monster while I was in Japan!

I don’t know about you but vending machines in Japan gives me a race in my heartbeat everytime I see them on the street or anywhere!

This reminds me so much of Grease for a few reasons. Didn’t get to sit on much rides though. Now that I think of it, I remembered that I was doing a speed run towards the most popular ride of all, Hollywood Dream! It’s basically a roller coaster ride BUT YOUR FEET WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TOUCH ANYTHING! And it’s freaking steep like WHOA 91DEGREES! The cool thing about this ride is that you could choose the music you want to calm yourself down hahahah wtf! Most of us went for the Eminem – Lose Yourself because personally I think that increases your adrenaline rush even more! They even had Beatles and a Japanese Song composed just for this ride! How cute!

I was on that roller coaster ride!! My dad took it for us muahahahhaaa!!! I was so happy when I spotted that pink kitty stall and that kitty-inspired plant! Couldn’t resist having a picture taken with it. I’m so childish ohmygod!

Went to Hard Rock after that and I bought a few tops! FREAKING CHEAP BUY BUY BUY!

After a whole day filled of fun and laughter, I went back into the bus and my daddy surprised me with this little present! I WAS SO TOUCHED BECAUSE MY DAD HARDLY BOUGHT ME ANYTHING WITHOUT ME PESTERING HIM!

I know this is a long post but this is just part of my first day! There’s more to come so look out for this page!

So we all had a mini argument yesterday and yes I know my mum is sick but I’m the type who wants to make things clear before it gets delayed or worst. I was quite upset when she told me herself that I’m the type of daughter who goes to her and speaks nicely when I want money to buy things but shout just to make myself clear. Okay I know whoever reads this might already judge me from that. Trust me, I hate these type of people if I see them in dramas and movies too. SO NOW MUM, I don’t need you to give me back those amount of money anymore. I hate being labelled as that ‘type’ of daughter cause I know I’m trying not to be one.

You know how I’m feeling right now? I feel like killing that part of myself. No, not being suicidal that killing myself type. It’s more towards like destroying that freak side of me. Yes that is it. But I can’t. I’m just so mad at myself. Not anyone else. But myself. Gosh I’m just going to shut myself away from any communication just for one day. I’m sorry ma if i ever make you feel that way. Guess I’m not as worthy as much as I think. What a total total disappointment.

Went to the City to get rid of an expiring $50 voucher my sister won last year for this Pancake Shop Restaurant. We’ve been wanting to eat since last year’s April. Yeah imagine that. We only manage to use it on the last week it’s valid until. Tsk tsk.

It was fun just taking the train to the City with my sis instead of having to go to work or uni on boring weekdays. She was watching Aladdin on the way from my Iphone. Ah the greatness of having Iphone sometimes! As much as I enjoy this meal, I didn’t like the effect after this. I had a huge burger with chips + that waffle and I’ve been suffering from bloatedness days after till I don’t even have any appetite to eat anything WTF.

But isn’t it ironic? We have burgers and waffles in a shop that’s famous for pancakes.

This is Coco the Pugalier. She’s so fat her and all she does is sleep around (HAHAHAHA WTF?) and eat. But that’s what dogs do most of the time. But she’s does that at a level so high you couldn’t even imagine.

Whenever I want to take a picture, she’s ALWAYS inside and then the whole idea of taking my picture ONLY is ruined. And when I thought to myself, okay could take it again, it’s just NOT as nice anymore!

Because she’s so fat I bully her all the time. Hence all the karma I get, FML!

I love how the light shines in this picture and the way it hits on the leaves reflecting a dreamy feeling. Oh hi, maybe it’s God in the picture. Maybe he’s telling me that I should stop bullying her.

But then again, I’ve learnt something in church today. When life throw you troubles, just tell yourself this : SUCK IT UP, PRINCESS!. Strongly applicable to both boys and girls.

I should just tell Coco that. Hey suck it up princess. I bet my sister is so going to kill me now hahahaha!

Because my Tuesday classes ends at 2pm, my friends and I would usually indulge ourselves with the half priced waffles at Gelare! These beach trip pictures were supposedly up long ago but I realized I blog a lot more less lately compared to last time. Don’t worry, I’m trying to change this stupid habit of mine.

I killed two snails when they are having the time of their lives, think you could spot his/her dick in the second picture. Yes it’s a his/her. They can choose to hump or be humped. Interesting fact eh?

One sinful order whenever I go to Dim Sum restaurants : Lau Sa Pau aka Golden Sand Bun? It’s just a baked bun with melted butter + salted duck egg.

Went for a meeting on Thursday regarding ISV (Internation Student Volunteer) trips, where around 50 students will get chosen to go onto trips to Costa Rica, South Africa, New Zealand or Thailand to involve themselves in those conservation/community project. The students were very helpful and friendly, they were telling us about their experiences and the things we’re going to do and I so want to go to Costa Rica or South Africa so badly! The rather sad thing is that it comes with quite an expensive price tag which is around $3398 just for the trip minus the air ticket. But nevertheless, I figured that you couldn’t get this experiences once you’re in the working world. I didn’t sign up in the end cause I think it’s too fast, my heart’s not ready yet so I ‘ll just pray hard that I could join it next next year? Let’s just hope so.

Work towards your dream, don’t abandon it halfway. When it gets tough, we gotta fight some more.

There you have it, the obligatory dish that every family celebrating CNY must have! The ‘vegetarian’ dish! Seems easy peesy when my mum cooked it but when I TRY to IMAGINE myself doing it, i’m totally at loss.

Since it’s the new year, it is a tradition for everyone to berpakat and con the daddy’s money! Look at the amount of coins there, that’s the amount I’ve got. Think it was around RM1.05? Hahahahaa everybody was like telling me off because as if la i’ll win with my pathetic RM1! BUT I DID WIN IN THE END THOUGH

Bought 6 of these just for CNY from Ikea in KL! Saw these on the brochure and i knew that I just had to have them! I have a thing for table mats!

On the third day, I’ve decided to cook the family some lunch instead buy pan-frying some burger patties that we got from Lenards(a shop selling all chicken products). It seems simple but my mum was quite excited saying that we’re eating all of these happily and as long we’re together. I was quite touched by what she said on that day cause after all, I was the one who did the burger patties(the most important part of the meal) so that means I am spreading the happiness.through.my.patties.

What’s CNY if you don’t have the fried tidbits??! Brought these babies over all the way from Malaysia and into the hot oil! I managed to steal one right after it came out piping hot. It’s bad for the throat but i just couldn’t resist these yummy goodies!

Thank you my dearest Mummy for having to wake up early in the morning to prepare breakfast for everyone. It’s really great to have you as my mummy because you remember that everyone loves to eat white bread except me and when I woke up, I remember asking you whether it’s wholemeal and just one slice, you told me you already did that. From that, it just proves to me that you understand me so well(well okay la this is damn DUH) and I’m really grateful for you taking the trouble to personally make these for me cause I know you love me. And you should know that I love you so so much too! Not because of just the things you did for me, but because you’re my Mummy!

For all these years, I would never find another Mummy like you and I love you to bits and pieces! I’m sorry for whatever I’ve done in these few days and I know that I could be so hurtful at times when I’m having mood swings but sometimes I felt like I’m doing all these just so I could get more of your attention. I love you Mama!

I like the fact that we’re all together when my mum is whipping up a good ol’ reunion dinner for us. She did told me once that she was very excited as this was the first time she’s cooked reunion dinner for us during CNY because we always patronize the restaurants with the other relatives these past few years and my aunt used to cook in my grandfather’s house last time. I still remember though, my favourite meal was nuggets with rice and soup? AH it’s funny how the simple things like these makes my day so much better back when i was a kid.

Lo and behold! This is what my mum took a few hours to prepare for our Reunion dinner!

Braised Mushrooms with abalone! Got to say I don’t really like abalones because they only have the abalone-ish taste which is abaloneish only wat! I prefer mushrooms still!

Stir-fry Cauliflower with prawns!

Steamed Fish with my favourite bird eye chillies!

This one however hohohoho, we got it from our favourite HK bbq restaurant! I have to take some credit here, because I was the one whom assembled the duck nicely like ones they serve in the nicer restaurants!

I have no freaking idea what you call this in English, but in Malay, it’s sayur kering sup? It’s some dried vegetable we got from the oriental shop and my mummy put lots of dried scallops in it!

Voila! Here’s to a better new year ahead of us! I know, no yee sang this time cause we thought that might as well just stuff ourselves full with the dinner rather than not having any stomach space left for the yummy goodness!

After the super nice dinner, mum surprised us with dessert! It’s snow fungus with dried longans and many many more awesome goodies in it which I don’t know! A sweet ending and that’s just the way I love things to be.

Since it’s the year of the Tiger, I took the excuse to give my nails a little something extra special! I’m out of black nail polish that time so do excuse the purple stripes but I think it turned out quite okay! I used a toothpick so do ignore the fatter stripes.

As I was still on break during the CNY period, I woke up to a house filled with the smell of yam cake! In my head, I knew that it was my mummy preparing for our breakfast in the kitchen. The bliss of having to wake up and having your breakfast served without the trouble of doing anything is absolutely heavenly!

Sometimes I really do wonder, when can I start cooking dishes that taste at least half as tasty as my mummy’s cooking or when can I even start cooking more than ten dishes! I sure do know that I’ve saved down quite a hugee list of recipes from the internet but I never really got the patience to do it whole-heartedly. Sigh the same thing happens to my fashion project in my cupboard. But oh wells, I’m having two weeks break next week and I’ll upload the food my mummy cooked for us on the 2nd day of CNY and I can assure you it’s going to be posted in less than a few days time!

Had a small stop at one of those big rest house and I quickly jumped over to my uncle’s car for an hour of gambling with the godmother and cousin brother. Yes he dropped a card and it got stucked right there in between the bars. Cool isn’t it? Okay maybe not but still!!

After an hour of driving, we stopped by Ipoh for lunch and some salted chicken?

Their Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun is a total ripped off!! Crazy expensive for that chicken?!! PLS GO BOIL MY OWN CHICKEN AND EAT BETTER LA HELLO!!

Went to the famous Tau Fu Fah/Tau Cheong shop situated just right at the corner nearby to quench our thirst and omg it’s such a freaking yummink(yummy drink)! < I have such weird combination of words but whatever!

He likes people squeezing his man punani? wtf I know we look so awesome and pretty!

Yup, that’s the yummylicious herbal salt baked chicken that is being sold at RM16! They are selling a lot of boxes in a day and there are long queues even on a weekday for that chicken! And it’s not just that, everyone is buying by half a dozen! Nevertheless, I guess it is all worth it and make sure you get a super huge fridge to store all those plucking headless chicken!

As we arrived in Penang, we checked into our apartments booked by my aunty and we were just lazing around after the long drive so the drivers could rest. Had a seafood dinner near Sunway Hotel where we can pick what we want from those aquarium kinda thingy.

The dinner was okay, nothing memorable though. Went out with TSN that night itself with the cousins to go to pasar malam. Effing long, walked one hour also baru halfway kanasai! AND THAT TAN SU NING WEAR PROM DRESS TO PASAR MALAM, N I’MY ONLY WEARING A PAIR OF LEGGINGS WITH SOME RANDOM SLEEVELESS TOP! Was feeling so damn under-dressed! She even have freaking make-up so yea no pictures from that night cause she looks prettier than me that night! hahahahahhaha!

Drove to Him Heang for their biscuits. Sometimes I’m not sure whether it’s just an overrated thing or it is damn good. Whenever you go to Penang, you’ll drive to Him Heang to get their biscuits and stuffs. Whenever your relatives or your friends go to Penang, you’ll personally ask them to get you some things from Him Heang. I think I’ll only eat it whenever I get that craving which is once in a blue moon, not everytime I go to Penang though.

Nothing better else to do while waiting for them to buy their biscuits. Comparing our muscles seems like a good way to go!

Went to have lunch at a food court which serves quite a large variety of food in the centre of town itself. Was having a mad craving for Ice Kacang like how a pregnant woman should and it does it justice considering it’s quite easy to prepare it by the looks of it? Okay la i wouldn’t be able to do it but i could if i want to!

Drove to Kek Lok Si temple with my aunt and her family to take breathtaking pictures and have a small bite of the Assam Laksa.

For dinner, my dad’s friend who stays in Penang brought us to a famous spot for dinner that is located by the beach so you’ll get the most beautiful view of sunset while tucking into your food. It was definitely a table full of seafood dishes and PLEASE LOOK AT MY PRAWN? THAT’S THE HEAD OKAY. FULL OF SHIT! SHIT BRAIN PRAWN. BRAIN FULL OF SHIT! hahahaha wtf just wanted to say that cause i’ve never seen a head filled with so much shit before.

Had a Dim Sum breakfast along Gurney then drive home. Byebye!

Okay I’ve probably promised some of my friends that I WILL update by last week but I’m sorry that I have to disappoint you girls again as my laptop has been sent for service and it’s been 3 days!!! I called them today and they told me they’re still checking LIKE WHAT THE HECK!

Note : ‘we’re still checking’ phrase means we haven’t got time to check your laptop first so please stop calling!

*fast-forward ten million days*

Okay daddy/mummy called this morning and scolded them big time wahlalalala i was quite scared and let’s say I would be very furious if I was the fella at the other end of the phone cause who likes to be scolded at 8.45am! But it’s a good thing I guess, cause they immediately work on my computer and I got it back the same day itself! dup dup dup so uhm scolding is the solution to everything eh? HAHAHAHAHHA!

Blablablabla I know I’m probably the second last person on Earth to blog about one of the few last things I did in 2009 but wth as long I talk about it. Why second last so odd right? Remember the saying where ppl always used to say that no matter how smart/whatever you are, there’s always someone better than you. So same principle lar this time, no matter how lazy you are, there’s probably someone lazier than you. Backwards ppl backwards teeheeehee!

One of my favourite shopping malls of all time with their beautiful christmas decorations, I swear I could just sit there all day and just look up minus the neck pain lar of course!

When I came back, I put up the christmas tree with my family all by myself just like any other years. Looks a little bare here but somehow I like it better than having the whole tree covered by all the ornaments. I’m getting less complicated and fussy eh.

“Wah now I think back, that’s damn bloody sad. It’s supposed to be a family get-together thing no? Guess everybody just got lazier. HAHAHA SEE SEE THERE’S ALWAYS SOMEONE LAZIER THAN ME!”

That’s my half-eaten Char Siew Pao. I’m not a CSP person and I NEVER eat/order them during dim sum outings but this is one of the MUST MUST CSP to be eaten! It would be a sin not to be eaten! It’s situated at Jalan Ipoh and I think they are only open at night. The pau is oh-so-soft melts in your mouth with their hot hot char siew filling yums!

Hadn’t been eating here for more than 10 years till i was having my CSP craving few weeks ago and I insisted my dad on driving me there or I’ll bug him with the Imma Be song as he hates the song already, and when I sing it errrr..

Since I’ve talked so much without having even reach my main point yet, I’ll just show pictures of my trip to PD + Malacca first!

Started off our journey to PD to stay for the night but I just effing realised I didn’t take any pictures cause I was spying on this guy in the pool with my cousin. Okay la, to make it sound less obsessive, I did play on the longggg rides down into the pool and BAM! I couldn’t hear anything for the following few days cause there’s pressure in my right ear no matter what I do to fix it!

So after the night bili bala in our PD apartment, my dad drove us to Malacca and it’s quite boring lar long roads with chickens and cow aliens around. Decided to take a picture of my dad and all he have was a boring-driving-the-car face. Told him that and he gave me this immediately. I think my dad is funny sometimes.

IMMA BE IMMA BE IMMA BE have my cendol fix in Malacca but sadly the first one was a stupid durian cendol! LIKE HECK SINCE WHEN THERE’S DURIAN CENDOL! Mind my monyetness please but I stooopid dislike durians but I had to force them down my throat cause it’s freaking RM5! Feeling unsatisfied, had the second cendol at a Nyonya restaurant then I told my dad immediately, okay call 999, we must go to Penang for cendol!

The reason I love this photo is because it reminds me so much of the olden days! HELLOO!!! How many shops sells clothes and summore they have that box full of ice-creams anymore???? Wah ice ice baby ling-a-long-a-long!

Keep bisinging my dad to bring me to Jonker Street cause everybody has been talking about it and I hadn’t been there!

Saw this tuktuk sweet and asked the little girl to tuktuk for me so I could buy a packet! But okay la I don’t fancy the sweet and I don’t know where it’s gone now cause nobody ate it. byebye RM1.30

Saw putt chai koh and I bought it no matter how bloated I was cause I so want to try it ever since I’ve seen it in the TVB drama for so many freaking times! Die die also wana lick once at least! Then walk for a few more seconds, spotted this shop selling all sorts of stuffs and I bought my drink just because it’s pink! Yummy jam tarts freshly baked yummy!

While walking back to the car, spotted this tree. Shouted ‘WOHHHHH RED BALLS!’ and pointed at it like i’ve spotted a flying bear!

And that concludes my trip to Malacca + PD!

PS: Look what I’ve done to my iPhone when I found a box of my sticker collection from the past! Call me old fashion but I prefer stickers back then which is just purely 2D instead of those squishy ones they’re selling now hmph
